Not a Arizona Native, Kris Barker came to Phoenix 10 years ago “to get away”. Deciding on a Tuesday, he was here by Friday.
Phoenix was close, and he had couple of friends here, who spoke highly of Phoenix.
Although auto repair was the family business in Albuquerque, he wanted to keep autorepair as a hobby, and got his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and was a chef for awhile, but after putting in long hours and working for other companies, and that he “just kept going back to working on cars and going back to working on cars”, he decided to give going back into the family business, and, it occurred to him that every body was “going mobile” – mobile detailing, mobile windshield repair – he cooked up KB Mobile Oil.

But, like every entrepreneur, Kris faced challenges. At first he worked out of the back of his truck – living and sleeping in it for a couple of months – getting the business started.
